HOLIDAY HOME BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
BOOKINGS & DEPOSITS
A deposit of 20% of the total accommodation cost is required to secure a booking with Buildings by the Bay. For peak season bookings a deposit of 50% is required.
In peak periods any balance of accommodation cost due needs to be paid six weeks prior to arrival and at all other times four weeks prior to arrival.
If a booking is made less than four weeks prior to arrival date then full payment of the accommodation costs is requested.
A tentative booking will be held no longer than seven days.
RIGHT TO REVOKE OR REFUSE BOOKINGS
Buildings by the Bay reserve the right to revoke or refuse to honour any holiday accommodation booking, at any time before or during the holiday rental period, which may in their opinion (and at their sole discretion) be unsuitable for the property.
We do not accept bookings for 'Schoolies', 'Leavers' or parties associated with this period.
The rental contract is between the Guest and the Owner of the property for which the holiday accommodation booking is made and is subject to the terms and conditions herein.
The contract for accommodation shall not be effective until Buildings by the Bay sends guests written confirmation of the booking.
The guest acknowledges that Buildings by the Bay acts as a booking agent for the owner not as a principal.
BUILDINGS BY THE BAY OBLIGATIONS
Buildings by the Bay has taken due care to verify all information provided on buildingsbythebay.com.au , however it accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracy or misdescription contained within this website.
Buildings by the Bay does not accept responsibility for any changes in price variations. All services and prices are subject to change without notice.
Once the Deposit is paid - it is non-refundable unless Buildings by the Bay are able to re-book the property during the period for which the Deposit was paid.
If the re-booking is achieved, the Deposit will be refunded less a $100 Admin Fee.
For cancellations, made in writing, up to 6 weeks prior to the arrival date - Buildings by the Bay will make every effort to re-book the property and the Deposit will be refunded subject to the conditions noted in section (1).
For cancellations, made in writing, between 3-6 weeks prior to the arrival date - the Deposit will be non-refundable. Buildings by the Bay will make every effort to re-book the property and, if successful, will refund the balance of the Holiday Rental costs. If Buildings by the Bay are unable to re-book the property, no refund will be given.
For cancellations, made in writing, less than 3 weeks prior to the arrival date - the Deposit will be non-refundable. Buildings by the Bay will make every effort to re-book the property and, if successful, will refund 70% of the balance of the Holiday Rental costs. If Buildings by the Bay are unable to re-book the property, no refund will be given.
In the unlikely event that a Booking must be cancelled by Buildings by the Bay, we will make every effort to transfer the booking and deposit to a suitable date, within a six month period from the original booking date. If this is not possible, any payments made by the guest will be refunded in full. No compensation will be offered or paid under any circumstances.
Buildings by the Bay strongly advise the Guest to obtain Holiday & Travel Insurance to cover themselves against unforseen circumstances.
The Guest is responsible for the house and contents for the duration of their stay and apart from reasonable standard cleaning requirements the property must be left in the same condition as they were at check in.
A Credit Card authority to cover all losses is required prior to occupancy.
The holder of the Credit Card gives Buildings by the Bay authority to recover the cost of extra cleaning or repairs/replacement from their Credit Card. If insufficient funds are available on the Credit Card, the Guest agrees to accept responsibility for outstanding payments.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES
The check in time is 3.00pm and departure time is 10.00am unless otherwise arranged. Special arrangements can be made for early check-in and late check-outs.
NO OF GUESTS
The property can only be occupied by the number of persons stated in the booking confirmation or as subsequently agreed with the managers. Buildings by the Bay reserve the right to refuse occupancy of the property if this condition is not observed.
CLEANING & LINEN
It is requested that the house, including the BBQ, is left in a clean and tidy condition, a basic holiday clean is included in the rental price and will be carried out once the property has been vacated. Fresh linen is supplied to the house and all beds are made, this includes bathroom and kitchen towels (does not include beach towels).
The Hire of nursery items, extra linen, beds, surfboards can be arranged by Buildings by the Bay. An invoice will be prepared by Buildings by the Bay and credit card facilities are available.
PETS & NO SMOKING POLICY
Sorry, we are unable to accommodate your pets. There is no smoking permitted inside the homes. Please dispose of cigarette ends thoughtfully if you smoke outside.
GUESTS OBLIGATIONS IN RESPECT TO THE PROPERTY
The Guest shall be responsible for the Property during their stay. The Guest shall take reasonable care of the Property and shall leave the Property, including all utensils, fixtures, fittings and equipment on, in or about the Property in a clean and tidy condition, at the end of the stay.
The Guest shall be liable for any breakages or damage caused to the Property or any part thereof or any of the chattels therein that may occur during the Guest’s occupation of the Property and all costs of repair and replacement thereof shall be payable from the Guests bond at the end of the stay.
Any damage or breakage to any part of the Property or any of the chattels therein shall be reported to Buildings by the Bay as soon as practicable after the damage occurring thereto.
